This is a replacement door lock mechanism for your MINI. Fits in the door behind the handle and door jam. These can sometimes stick after years of use and the lock internals can jam up. If your door handle works most likely the lock is bad and needs to be replaced. The internals are electric mechanical and have a solenoid that controls the door lock / unlocks. Your central locking brain controls this unit when you hit the unlock/lock button on your key fob or centre toggle bank.

Mounted horizontal on the rear door sill and contacts to the stocker on the right door.
